Rob Ward concentrates primarily on handling complex construction defect claims in the Southern California area. He also advises homeowner association boards on general legal matters, including governing document amendments, rules and policy updates, and handling owner/association disputes. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1991 and a Juris Doctor degree from California Western School of Law in 1995.
Prior to beginning his legal career, Mr. Ward worked in Washington, D.C. helping develop public policy for
industry leaders and legislators. After passing the
California bar, Rob began working on multi-million dollar complex actions in both California and Nevada, including disputes involving product liability, misrepresentation issues and residential construction defects against residential developers, converters, and insurance companies. For over 20 years, Rob has handled complex matters for homeowners associations and single family unit owners, helping to recover over 200 million dollars in settlements and judgments for his clients.
Rob is active in several trade organizations including Community Association Institute’s San Diego and Orange County chapters, and also serves as a delegate for the San Diego chapter’s Legislative Action Committee, where he helps CAI monitor and shape new legislation affecting community associations in California. Rob frequently publishes articles on defect litigation and community association issues. He speaks at industry events and various educational seminars offered by the firm. Operating out of the firm’s new San Diego office, Rob now handles claims in San Diego, Orange, Riverside and Los Angeles counties. Away from the office, Robert enjoys golf, music, following UCLA and San Diego sports, and spending time with his wife Mirja and son Benjamin.
